It should always be remembered, however, that even favorite shirts only last a certain amount of time--usually not more than two years. If you have a shirt that you love but has seen better days, don't try eking out its life--it's best to buy a new one. Be wary of shirts made of cheap material or that show poor sewing technique, as these may "suddenly" rip a seam or lose their buttons at exactly the wrong time.

For big and tall men, one option for ensuring excellent quality as well as perfect fit is to have shirts tailor-made. When you have a shirt tailor-made, it means that it's exactly the color you want and it fits you and you alone. It also means that you're spending a lot of money for a shirt.
